Oh Hi.
I haven’t forgotten about you, faithful readers. I really haven’t. I’ve just had other battles I have been facing, and it wasn’t until now that I felt I was able to sit down and really explain.
First things first – like the new look? I am expanding out just a tad – so I needed the site to reflect that. I don’t know how far the expansion will go… possibly VERY far, but for now you’ll see a bit more coverage of not only my running (or NOT running – more on that later too) adventures, but also on runDisney topics, as well as Disney and Disney Travel in general.
So that leads me to my first announcement… I am now a Travel Specialist with Main Street Travel Co. I specialize in Disney vacations, and helping you plan runDisney Trips in particular, but I also can book general travel – so if you have a destination race coming up, please let me know and I’d love to help you take care of all the details. And don’t worry, my services are free to you! PLEASE be sure to follow me on Twitter (@runDisneyAddict) and Instagram (@runDisney_Addict) and like my travel Facebook Page Magical Destinations Diva. Coming along with the new change will be some *slightly* different blog posts, related to travel, but I will still be focusing on my running adventures as well. I’m even playing around with Periscope and the idea of starting a podcast dedicated to runDisney events and planning “Racecations”.
Of course, I am sure that you are all interested in hearing about how my running and the Wine and Dine Half Marathon went. I know it has been nearly 2 months since the race and I haven’t posted a recap yet. I can honestly tell you I am not sure if I will recap the race; it was my worst ever experience – and not all of it (ok – honestly none of it) was runDisney’s fault. Even when I look back on just the vacation aspect of it, I want a re-do. Maybe 2016!
And my running. I haven’t been. One of the terrible experiences coming off of Wine and Dine was an injury. Honestly, I am pretty sure I got it before the race – but running 7.1 miles on whatever it is did not help things get better. Needless to say, I haven’t been able to run since the race (I tried for one painful and terrible mile once). I have had xrays of my hip, as well as an MRI, that I am still waiting to hear results from. Until they can rule out stress fracture (which is what the PA says all symptoms definitely point to), impingement, or Labral tear – no running for me. It’s frustrating and has definitely played into the other demons I have (and still am) battling. It currently looks like I am missing out running with Lil WO on his 1st 5K in January, as well as missing the Rock N Roll Half Marathon which was going to be the race I was aiming for a sub-2:30. I keep trying to tell myself healing is my current training plan – but it is frustrating to not even know what I am healing.
Thanks for making it this far. Please keep coming back and watch the progress of the site, by travel business, and my training. And tell your friends!
