Training Log – Week 10

Training Log

Another week that did not go as planned – at all. I am really trying, but my self discipline is lacking right now. I could blame it on the fact that I am really going at this by myself – and haven’t really made it a point to let the family feel any sort of discomfort because of my training. On the positive side, I did get most of my training runs in. This week’s long run was tough… I have always heard/read about “bonking” and during today’s 11 mile long run, I am pretty sure I bonked around mile 9. I am hoping that an easy pace of 13:15 is where I should be if I am hoping to average a 12 minute mile at TinkerBell.

So – this week? My goal is to not miss a workout. I mean, we are getting close to tapering time, which means runs are going to get closer, and the number of “Leg Days” will also start to drop.

We’ll see how it goes. Life is definitely settling down, so that should help. I am hoping to get back on track with nutrition as well. I think that contributed in a big way to my bonk during today’s run. Too much sugar and junk, and not enough good, lean protein and quality carbs.
