Planning A Disney Trip? I don’t know about you, but heading into the Disney Theme Parks with a purse just seems odd. Instead I pack a backpack. They are easier to carry, can hold a lot more stuff, and don’t get in the way as much as a purse does. So what do I recommend taking with you? Here are the top ten items that always go in my backpack for a trip to the parks!
- Phone Charger – I typically bring both the wall charger for my phone as well as an extra battery pack. You can usually find a place to sit and charge if needed, but if you are somewhere without an outlet, the battery pack might just be a lifesaver.
- Snacks – Yes, you can bring snacks into the Disney Parks! I typically put in travel sized bags of trail mix or crackers in my backpack so we aren’t spending a fortune food!
- First Aid Kit – I admit I usually forget this. While every park has a First Aid station, sometimes you just get that blister you don’t want to walk across the park with! If you don’t have a full on First Aid kit, at least have some band aids and advil!
- Sunscreen – Since the parks in both Florida and California get plenty of sun, a small travel sized tube of sunscreen is a must have. If you are visiting in the summer, I highly recommend a full sized bottle.
- Poncho – Even if there is no rain in the forecast, it never hurts having a poncho in your bag. Seat a little too wet on Splash Mountain? Use it as a seat cover. Use to wrap your phone in while you ride Grizzly River Run. So many uses!
- Water Bottle – Bring your own instead of buying them in the park. Any quick service dining area will give you a free glass of water if you ask. You will want to make sure you bring a plastic one – no glass containers (except baby food) are allowed in parks!
- Chapstick – I hate dry lips and with all the walking and the screaming I do on rides, my lips are always dry. Chapstick is easier than lipstick, and any guys with you can use it too!
- Hairbrush – This is a must have if you have longer hair and actually leave it down for your trip! After roller-coasters, spinning tea cups, and water rides; trust me you are going to want to brush it out now and then. Bonus points for having a few hair ties wrapped around the handle.
- Sunglasses – Whether you are visiting the Disneyland Resort in California or the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, you can count on bright sun! Make sure you have some sunglasses to protect your eyes.
- Small wallet – You don’t need a full purse and you definitely don’t need your Old Navy and Victoria’s Secret credit cards. A small wallet with some cash, your ID, and maybe a credit card or two is it.
