It is crazy to think that we are 74 days out. And by looking at how week 5 went… I need to step up my game.
- Tuesday – 4 miles easy
- Thursday – 4 miles easy, then 20 sec/2min intervals
- Saturday – 4 miles easy
- Sunday – 6 miles easy
Well, once again, I’m going to blame life. I did manage to log a total of 2 of those workouts. And ended up skipping my long run – again. I did get in Thursday’s run and Saturday’s run though. I guess it is a start. My biggest worry is that my training plan really starts upping the mileage in the next few weeks, and the furthest I have gone lately is about 7 miles. This Sunday’s run is scheduled to be a 10 miler. That is a lot for skipping as many long runs as I have.
My goal for the rest of training is to NOT skip a run. I may not make my mileage or speedwork for each workout, but I will run. At this point making mileage is becoming more important to me than the speed.

I’ve been thinking about tihtarlons ( sprint tihtarlons the Iron Man kind of thing is way too much for me) for a couple of years now. Maybe this will be the year I do it. I’ve never really been into distance swimming or lap swimming but I realize that it is really good cardiovascular exercise, and that combining running and swimming and biking might be a really good way of keeping in shape. Besides which, I think it would be cool to actually do a triathlon. I’ll be very interested in following your progress.
