Wine and Dine (Not so much) Training Log – Weeks 6, 7, 8

Training Log

Well.

As you can tell by the title, life really got in the way the last few weeks. I can try to say I got a few “training” runs in, but really… I just got a few runs in. To the point that I have thrown up my hands and given up.  That is not to say I have given up on running – oh Gods no. But training for a sub 2:30 time at Wine & Dine – that has gone out the window. We are less than 2 months out and my longest run to date has been 6 miles, and I don’t know how long ago that was.

But between stress, schedules, and the latest issue – WO’s leg. He got a pretty bad infection that really side lined him. And of course, I was too worried about him to focus on my training. I mean, when your husband’s leg is red and swollen and calls for a trip to the ER… running becomes the last thing on your mind. He’s on a ton of antibiotics, and the leg is looking better. He will be attempting to run this week, so it’s time for me to get back at it as well. At this point, we are forgetting speed work outs, and just focus on safely upping mileage before the race.

One of the great things about running, I can put it aside when I need to. One of the hardest things about being me… is not feeling guilty for putting it aside for a few weeks.

Looks like another amainzg time at Disney! So jealous that you met the fabulous Kelly. Those fried risotto balls look to die for, I tried some once at Todd English’s Plaza Food Hall in NYC and they were underwhelming but I bet other places do them better so I’d totally try them again! The veggie hummus sandwich looks good too, didn’t know Disney restaurants had those kinds of options. I read about your magic fast passes on Meghann’s blog, super jealous, maybe if I had one of those I’d consider visiting a park! HaCaitlin recently posted..
