Well, week 2 of training for the TinkerBell Half Marathon in May is officially in the books. And let’s just say the 2nd half of the week definitely didn’t go as planned. Monday I was able to get in 45 minutes of pilates and Tuesday’s run was nice. I actually had a couple of nice split times, at least ones I wasn’t expecting on what was scheduled to be an “easy” run. But from there on out, everything was a battle.
Wednesday was a later night at work due to a training presentation that I had; and was stressing out about all week, and by the time I got home WO was already cooking. So I decided to skip pilates (and decided I *had* to start getting up and getting my cross training done in the morning) Thursday was just a generally bad day as well, and honestly, after skipping a cross training session it was a little too easy to decide to skip a tempo run. Friday ended up a lost cause as well… I had a bit of an issue dragging myself out of bed at 4:30am for cross training, and it was date night with Lil WO. I did manage to end on a high note with a nicely paced easy 3 miler on Saturday and today’s long run – 6 miles with an average pace of 11’48”!
Next week’s schedule looks like it is shaping up to be pretty similar (with the exception that my goal is to actually finish ALL work outs)
Sticking with pilates for cross training – mainly because my planned costume for the TinkerBell will have me rocking a bare midriff. Scheduled runs are identical – 4 miles easy, 4 miles with intervals (Yay speed work!), 3 miles easy, and 6 miles long run. I was contemplating upping mileage to 7 for my long run, but my knee decided to start locking up at about mile 5 1/2, so I want to try again. My current training schedule is giving me a little flexibility with the lengths of my long runs.
The biggest goal and challenge of this week is the early morning wake up call to get my cross training in before work. I am tempted to pick a couple of friends to call me to make sure I am out of bed and moving, but I am pretty sure that none of them would want to be up at 4:30am either.

Rough weeks happen. Finding a solution is what it’s about. Way to go!

Thanks Tracie! I admit that I didn’t get out of bed this morning for a work out, even though WO’s alarms were going off like crazy. I blame insomnia. I will find just the right solution though, I am definitely NOT giving up!

I know this is a lot to ask for, but have you all ever thought about manikg some really GREAT tanks that match your skirts? I LOVE the skirts and would love a go to place to some amazing tanks too! I usually wear Lululemon tanks, but they don’t always come in the colors I need (to match my skirt!!). Just a thought for the future! I would definitely buy lots!!
