Fitness App Sworkit

I spend way to much time on Pinterest, but sometimes it pays off. My latest find is a new fitness App called Sworkit. They billed it as “Spotify for Video Workouts” I have been thinking about joining a gym lately, because I am just never sure of the workouts I should be doing, and I figured that since there was a free version of the app… Well, I might as well try it out.

Strength Training MenuSworkit is very easy to use. Open it up and you are immediately prompted to choose the type of workout you would like to do – Strength, Cardio, Yoga, or Stretching.  Then, you choose your focus. Do you want to do full body strength training or just focus on your upper body? Are you looking to stretch for a warm-up or do standing only stretches? Once you choose your workout type and focus, you can choose the length of you workout; from 5 minutes up to 1 hour.

The workouts are pretty good. They do not require any additional equipment, though you could easily incorporate weights into many of Sworkit Yoga Menuthe exercises that have come up in the rotation for me. The workout are based on a Tabata-like program, you do as many as you can in a 30 second time frame. You get a 5 second break before the next exercise starts, which is nice because the app will show you what is next along with a video, so you aren’t completely lost when the timer starts again! After 5 exercises you get a 30 second break to grab some water and catch your breath!

I have only completed the strength exercises – but am excited to try the Yoga for Runners included in the Yoga Section

Thanks for sharing this Lisa. Let us know what you think of the Yoga for Runners. It really hovers between yoga and runner’s stretching so the response has actually been a bit mixed. Overall we think it is a great way for people to get into some yoga who may not be as familiar and who really want the best stretching and flexibility for running.

Thanks for checking out the review, Ryan! I will definitely let you know what I think… I am not a huge yoga practitioner, so it will be interesting to try it out!

Been working out 7 monhts and only started warming up 3 weeks ago when Omar posted his first routine. Results are phenominal! I have enhanced mobility which actually adds to my strenth! I intentionally stoped this last week and I lost one increment of strenth in every exercise! I actually fckd my back up a little on the squat because I couldnt get my hips out far enough thereby making it a back? dominant movement.Thank you once again to the most underated intuitive fitness channel on youtube.

Great video chef buff! I have always thuohgt it useful to stretch before lifting especially on days that you attempt to move up in whatever weight you are used to. You might think? you are superman, but your body has other ideas, especially if you don’t stretch before and just go right into tearin that muscle tissue without loosing it up first. My 2 cents amigo!
